Yesterday, the Federation Council held a meeting on the issue of conservation of cultural heritage objects in unsatisfactory condition.
The regions were tasked with identifying and compiling the most complete lists of cultural heritage sites requiring conservation and restoration, submitting applications for federal funds allocated for these purposes, and preparing "road maps" for each site.
The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation represented by Deputy Minister Vladimir Osintsev made it clear that given the large number of monuments, federal funds alone will not be able to solve this problem, additional efforts of the regions and private investors are needed.
Based on the results of the work carried out by the bodies of protection of cultural heritage objects, ratings will be compiled. Those sub-regions of the Federation that are doing this work better will be shown, praised and noted. Those that do this work poorly or not at all will be in the "red" zone and they will also be shown...
