Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

In the Irafsky Municipal District, an interdepartmental commission to assess the readiness of educational institutions for the new 2026-2027 academic year has completed its work.

During the commission's work, a comprehensive inspection was conducted of all municipal general education schools, preschools, and supplementary education facilities.

The commission members focused particularly on ensuring comprehensive facility security (operation of automatic fire protection systems, video surveillance, and panic buttons), the sanitary and epidemiological condition of kitchen facilities, the proper functioning of utility networks, and the readiness of classrooms and sports infrastructure.

During the summer, the planned volume of routine repairs was completed at the institutions, hydraulic tests of the heating systems were conducted, and the safety automation was checked.

Following the commission's work, all inspected facilities were deemed fully ready to receive children.
