The Itum-Kali district is located in the south of the Chechen Republic. In the north, the district borders with Shatoy and Achkhoy-Martan districts, in the east with the Sharoy district, in the west with the Republic of Ingushetia and in the south with Georgia. The territory of Itum-Kali district is divided into mountain and forested zones and is located in the gorge at the mouth of the mountain river Chanty-Argun and its tributaries Khacheroy-Erk, Chanty-Erk, Zumsoy-Erk. The administrative center of the district is the village of Itum-Kali. The official date of formation of the village is 1131, and the date of formation of the Itum-Kali district is 1923. On the territory of the district there are 13 rural settlements, which include 31 settlements. The Itum-Kali district rightly claims to be one of the tourist centers of the Chechen Republic. The area is literally littered with sights. On the territory of the district there is the Argun historical, architectural and natural reserve of federal significance and a large number of architectural monuments dating from the IX-XI centuries. The Itum-Kali district has a huge investment potential in the field of recreational services, extreme tourism, agriculture, construction, mining. A comprehensive inspection of educational institutions' readiness for the new 2026/2027 academic year was conducted in the Itum-Kali District in accordance with the instructions of the Head of the Chechen Republic, R.A. Kadyrov.

The interdepartmental commission included representatives from the district administration, the Federal Security Service (FSB) Directorate for the Shatoi District, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Itum-Kali District, and the Department for Supervision and Preventive Work for the Shatoi, Sharoi, and Itum-Kali Districts.

The monitoring concluded that the district's schools are at a satisfactory level of readiness for the start of the academic year. Identified issues have been recorded and addressed, and their rectification is planned for the near future.

Security, educational organization, and improvement of educational institutions remain priorities.
