Irafsky District
Irafsky District

Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

As part of the federal project "All the Best for Children" of the national project "Youth and Children," major renovations are underway at a school in the village of Toldzgun in the Iraf District.

To date, the construction is 80% complete.

Specialists from the contractor, OOO Stroymontazh, have completely renewed the flooring in the hallways and common areas, replaced utility systems—from electrical to heating and water supply—and installed new window units.

Currently, workers are focusing on finishing the classrooms: tiling is nearly complete, including in the cafeteria, and painting is underway. The contractor will begin renovations to the façade soon.

Completion of the work is scheduled for mid-September. Particular attention is being paid to the safety and future comfort of children—these remain a top priority.
