The Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments includes the Marine Station on Vasilievsky Island in the list of newly identified objects of cultural heritage. This is a continuation of the joint work of the Committee and the St. Petersburg Union of Architects to identify the best examples of Soviet architecture of the 1950-1980 period.
The station was built in 1984 according to the project of the 12th workshop of the LenNIIproject under the direction of Vitaly Sokhin.
