In Smolensk region it is planned to launch the first in the country network educational program on restoration and reconstruction of monuments of architecture and urban planning.

Against the background of active state support of programs on restoration of cultural heritage objects, growing demand for qualified specialists and large-scale restoration works, the training of specialized personnel becomes especially important. The new program involves Moscow Architectural Institute, Smolensk State University and Smolensk State Institute of Arts. It is assumed that on their basis it will be organized the training of students capable to be involved in real projects on preservation of cultural heritage of the region already in the course of their studies.
