Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

As part of the "Family" national project, the Lesken Model Library hosted a thematic evening titled "Our Kosta," dedicated to the 167th anniversary of the birth of Kosta Khetagurov, the founder of Ossetian literature.

Library staff, in collaboration with employees of the local House of Culture and students from the Lesken secondary school, organized a presentation on the life and work of the poet for clients of the home-based social service department (Branch No. 2). Attendees learned many fascinating details about Kosta’s biography.

The program concluded with musical performances based on the poet’s verses—a vivid testament to the multifaceted nature of his talent.
