The International Restoration Center in Rozhdestveno continues to display an exhibition about people preserving cultural heritage.
Taking on the responsibility of preserving a historical object is a difficult decision. The exhibition tells why people become curators, how they preserve cultural heritage, what difficulties they face, where they get strength, how they unite and pass cultural heritage from generation to generation.
In addition to interviews with curators and volunteers, the exhibition presents museum objects, fragments of documents and wallpaper from the 1840-60 s found during the restoration of the Ursin House in Vyborg, a model of the Rozhdestveno Estate Museum, and a rafter system element of Pushkin's Nanny's House.
The exhibition was created in partnership between the International Restoration Center and Rozhdestvensky branch of the Museum Agency, with the participation of the Open Finnish Living Room, Stackenschneider's Mill, Dutch Kitchen, ANO “Link of Times”, Suur-Merijoki Estate, the project “Common Cause. Revival of wooden temples of the North” project.
