Achkhoy-Martan District

Welcome to the Achkhoy-Martan Municipal District of the Chechen Republic. The Achkhoy-Martan district is located in the western part of Chechnya in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Range. Its administrative center is the town of Achkhoy-Martan. It borders on the Sernovodsk, Grozny, Urus-Martan and Itum-Kali districts of Chechnya, as well as the Sunzha and Jeyrakh districts of the Republic of Ingushetia. The climate is continental and low-humid. The leading branch of the economy of the Achkhoy-Martan District is agriculture, namely the cultivation of grain and leguminous crops. In addition to cereal crops cultivation, cattle breeding and vegetable growing are developed in the district. Industry and trade also account for a considerable share of the economy. The Achkhoy-Martan district is attractive for its high-mountain lakes and cultural heritage sites: ancient settlements, combat towers, medieval necropolises and burial mounds.

An environmental quest focused on waste sorting was held in the Achkhoy-Martan district.

An environmental quest, "Clean River – Clean Thoughts," was held in the Achkhoy-Martan district as part of the national "Environmental Well-Being" project and the federal "Circular Economy" project.

Schoolchildren, students, volunteers, and district residents participated in the event. Practical tasks included identifying waste accumulation sites, collecting and sorting waste by category, and determining the decomposition time of various materials.

The volume of waste collected exceeded 120 kg, with plastic packaging accounting for approximately a third of the total. The collected waste was sent for recycling.

Following the quest, a discussion was held on future environmental protection measures. District residents confirmed their willingness to participate in environmental campaigns.
