Irafsky District

Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

Aslanbek Gogaev, Deputy Head of the Iraf District Administration of Municipal Administration, inspected schools in the village of Chikola.

During the tour, he assessed the schools' readiness for the start of the school year. Particular attention was paid to safety, the condition of classrooms, and the sanitary conditions of the facilities.

No issues were identified. The inspection revealed a high level of readiness for the schools: all regulatory requirements have been met, and their facilities have been updated. Education will resume as usual.
