During the May holidays, a wonderful trip to Elista took place, in which PSU students together with students of the College of Economics, Service and Entrepreneurship (Essentuki) took part. The trip was organized by IIYMT PSU.
Students visited the very center of the steppe capital, the main decoration of which is the 7 Days Pagoda, symbolizing the principle of cyclical life. Inside this iconic building is a huge prayer drum, which contains about 30 million scrolls with mantras.
In addition, the children saw the largest Buddhist temple in Europe - the Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni, examined the building of Khurul and a 9-meter statue of Buddha, white stupas.
Then the students went to the ethnopark "Camel Island", where they rode on long-haired camels-Bactrians, who live only in Kalmykia, and also tried on national clothes, and learned about the life and way of nomads, who 800 years ago conquered half the world.
