Vedeno District
Vedeno District

Welcome to the Vedeno Municipal District of the Chechen Republic. The Vedeno District is located in the south-eastern part of Chechnya. Its administrative center is the village of Vedeno. It borders on the Kurchaloevo, Nozhai-Yurtovsk, Sharoy, Shatoy and Shalinsk municipal districts and the Republic of Dagestan. Its location in the mountain zone determines the climate. It is characterized by vertical zonality, in other words, the lower the location, the more moderately continental climate. As the altitude rises, the climate becomes less continental. The economy of the district is based on industrial and agricultural enterprises. The district is rich in clay, limestone, sand, dolomite and sandstone-shell. There are also many historical, architectural and natural monuments in Vedeno District (Caucasian linden park, Lake Kezenoyam, Maiden Spit spring, etc.).

Participants of the prestigious “School of Mayors” program - mayors of cities and heads of municipal districts from all regions of Russia visited tourist sites of the Vedensky district. According to Turpal-Ali Abdulazizov, head of the Vedensky district administration, the guests were warmly welcomed with national dishes, songs and dances. The participants also visited a viewing platform overlooking the sports and tourist complex “Kezenoy-Am” and the village of Khoi.

For reference, the “School of Mayors” is an all-Russian program for training municipal managers aimed at developing territories and improving the quality of life, which is implemented by the Higher School of Public Administration of the Presidential Academy with the support of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government.
