The eastern tip of Vasilyevsky Island was developed simultaneously with the foundation of St. Petersburg. At the beginning of the XVIII century the island was presented to Alexander Danilovich Menshikov, in 1716 Peter I decided to arrange on the arrow the administrative center of the city and move here the Senate and colleges. Before the cape acquired its current architectural appearance, it underwent various changes. Some buildings survived, some disappeared forever, and some were never built....
