The "Yurt-ganz" festival for rural youth has kicked off in Ingushetia.
The opening event took place in Gazi-Yurt, bringing together schoolchildren, college students, craftspeople, village elders, and active young people from across the republic.
The first day’s program featured a mix of cultural, educational, ethnocultural, and sporting activities.
The festival grounds hosted craft zones, exhibitions, food stalls, and workshops on traditional folk arts. Participants competed in tug-of-war, archery, and arm wrestling; played the traditional game of "Lyanga"; went horseback riding; and learned how to prepare *chapilg* (a traditional Ingush flatbread).
The event also included a concert, ethnocultural presentations, a fair, and dozens of workshops.
The festival will continue at other locations: on October 24 in the village of Nesterovskaya, and on November 4 in the city of Malgobek.
