Mandatory certification of cable cars will be one of the main topics of the Tourism Territories Forum.
The public discussion is being initiated by the Kavkaz.RF Development Institute, a pioneer in introducing domestic developments into the ski industry. The forum will be held in Moscow on October 28 and 29 at VDNKh in the new Pavilion No. 20 of VDNKh EXPO.
The FTT has historically brought together ski resort executives from across the country in anticipation of the new season. The most pressing industry challenges, from import substitution to crisis management, are being discussed.
A significant innovation for the industry in 2026 is the mandatory certification system for passenger cable car equipment: from September 1, 2026, a GOST certificate of conformity will be required for clamps, cabins and chairs, suspensions, pulleys, tensioners, brakes, and roller balancers.
An independent certification body was established in the summer. Equipment testing is conducted by the accredited laboratory "Center for Testing Ropeway and Transport Systems."
Kavkaz.RF will bring together the entire expert community at its booth and in a separate session, so resort managers planning to purchase new equipment can get answers to their questions and information on certification deadlines and mechanics.
The forum program also includes a trip to the Ropeway Certification Center and the Ruslet plant in the Tver Region.
The forum program also includes discussions on resort management, instructor regulation, the role of attractions in tourist areas, industry support measures and opportunities for investors, and the development of event-based and rural tourism. The forum will also feature the SKI BUSINESS AWARDS ceremony.
