Elbrus and Mamison Win SKI BUSINESS AWARDs.

Resorts managed by the development institution Kavkaz.RF have been honored with the SKI BUSINESS AWARD, a professional accolade for the ski industry. Elbrus was named the winner in the "Most Sports-Oriented Tourist Complex" category, while Mamison received an award for "Best Promotion and Advertising Campaign for a Ski Resort." The awards were presented during the "Forum of Tourist Territories"—the premier annual event for the country’s ski industry—held in Moscow from October 28 to 29.

"We take great pride in the sports-focused offerings at Elbrus and the growing popularity of Mamison as an 'art-resort.' This recognition from experts is especially valuable to us, as it confirms that our strategic direction for the development of both resorts is the right one," noted Rustam Tapaev, Deputy General Director of Kavkaz.RF.

The "Most Sports-Oriented Tourist Complex" category reflects Elbrus’s status as a year-round training and competition venue for alpine skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, freestyle, ski mountaineering, skyrunning, and mountain running. Key events in the resort’s sports calendar traditionally include stages of the Russian FWT Qualifier series and the Russian Freeride Cup, the "Elbrus Prize" national youth competitions, and festivals such as the Red Fox Elbrus Race, Alpindustria Elbrus Race, and "Rocks of Russia" (Skaly Rossii). Skiers train on the Garabashi glacier at an altitude of 3,800–4,000 meters, with training sessions continuing as late as August. Each year, the resort hosts over 15,000 professional skiers and snowboarders from 30 Russian regions and several foreign countries for training.

Mamison—which will debut as a ski resort in the upcoming season—has, in less than two years of operation, established itself as a promising art venue by focusing on cultural programming. Notable initiatives have included an art festival in Lisri, the opening of a contemporary art exhibition space at the resort’s information center, an artist residency, an open-air exhibition of monumental sculpture, the "Slow Life Workshop" project, and fairs featuring local artisans. In the autumn of 2026, the resort expanded its event offerings by hosting the first-ever mountain comedy festival, featuring stand-up performances by stars of the Caucasian entertainment scene.
