On August 16, 2026, a groundbreaking ceremony for a 1,500-seat mosque was held in the village of Yandi. The event was timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the birth of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, the First President of the Chechen Republic.
Village residents, clergy, and government officials participated in the ceremony. Funding for all stages of construction will be provided by the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Foundation.
Advisor to the Head of the Chechen Republic, Mufti of the Chechen Republic, Chairman of the KCMSC, and Doctor of Islamic Sciences Sheikh Salakh-Khadzhi Mezhiyev addressed the residents with congratulations. He expressed gratitude to the Head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the President of the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Foundation, Aimani Nesievna, for their support of the construction of religious buildings.
At the end of the event, participants recited a collective dua asking for blessings, peace, and prosperity for the Chechen people and the entire Muslim ummah.
