Restoration work has officially begun in the Great Choral Synagogue at 2 Lermontovsky Avenue in St. Petersburg.
The contractor started installing scaffolding back in June. They plan to complete the work by the end of next year. During this time the dome will be restored, the roofing and rafter system will be restored, the granite and limestone plinth and granite porch, brickwork, stucco and columns of the entrance will be restored.
The last restoration of the synagogue took place at the end of the twentieth century with the participation of the ACM team.
