Quite often, ACM Group is tasked with non-standard research projects, sometimes involving ancient burial sites. A couple of years ago, architects and archaeologists from ACM Group explored caves and burial sites in the dark and long caves of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery. Prior to that, ancient cemeteries near churches in St. Petersburg and Moscow were explored several times. Today, the company is working on studying the ancient monasteries of Pskov, as well as the medieval crypts of the North Caucasus.
Strangely enough, during the work carried out by ACM Group, they sometimes encounter people who are extremely interested in old burials but have absolutely no connection to the research being conducted. They are eternally and passionately interested in the remains and probably the afterlife.
ACM Group studied the issue of unusual interest in remains, and here is what is interesting:
Taphophilia is a pathological interest in cemetery topics. The patient may engage in in-depth study of funeral rites, ask various questions related to death, and collect photographs of gravestones or epitaphs. They may frequently watch films and read books on related topics. Sometimes they regularly visit cemeteries, not to tend to the graves of relatives. The severity of symptoms varies significantly, from moderate cultural interest to an obsession that encompasses all aspects of life.
