The collection of historical archival photographs is an indispensable part of the preparatory work of ASM Group for the restoration project.
Archival photographs of the towers allow you to accurately determine the losses; often help to clarify which buildings surrounded them.
This allows you to approach the design as accurately as possible, balanced, from the standpoint of historical reliability.
Photographers of "ASM-Group" try to repeat the angles of such photos, so that the comparative analysis turned out to be the most visual.
But this is not always possible, as is the case with the Meller battle tower.
The photograph of 1903 was taken from a fairly long distance, the tower is perfectly visible to the full height, without any prospective distortion.
Today, such an angle is impossible - due to numerous landslides, the tower is now located near the cliff and photofixation is possible only from a distance of several steps from the walls.
