The Republic of Ingushetia is a subject of the Russian Federation and a republic within it, was formed on June 4, 1992. It is located on the northern slopes of the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Range, in its central part. It borders with North Ossetia, the Chechen Republic and Georgia. It consists of 4 districts. The capital is Magas. Ingushetia is the smallest region of the Russian Federation - 3123 km2. The population is 530,242. State languages: Ingush and Russian. The climate in the republic is continental. The relief is diverse - steppe and mountain, consisting of ridges separated by valleys and gorges. There are broadleaf forests. The total land area of the forest fund is 84.4 thousand hectares. The total stock of wood is about 11 million m3. The main river is the Sunja. The rivers Assa, Fortanga, Armhi, Guloikhi, Phaztonka, Chemulga also flow. There are deposits of oil (reserves over 60 million tons), natural gas, marble, dolomites, limestone-shell, high-quality brick clays, thermal therapeutic and mineral waters, as well as reserves of clean mountain spring water. There are also deposits of rare metals. Ingushetia is an agrarian-industrial republic, where 60% of the territory is occupied by agricultural lands, and half of them are arable lands. The economy is oversubsidized. .

“Land of Galgays” – a new tourist route in Ingushetia received the status of a national one.

The new route will allow tourists to get acquainted with the rich history and culture of Ingushetia, visit iconic sights and enjoy the beauty of mountain landscapes. It is carefully thought out in terms of logistics, safety and comfort.

The project, implemented within the framework of the national project “Tourism and hospitality industry”, offers guests of the republic a rich program lasting 3 days and 2 nights.

The route “Land of Galgays” covers the main tourist sites of the plain and mountainous part of Ingushetia, including accommodation in comfortable hotels. These are the Tower of Concord in Magas, the Memorial of Memory and Glory in Nazran, the Borga-Kash Mausoleum in Plievo, the medieval tower complexes Targim, Egikal, Vovnushki and Erzi, the all-season tourist and recreational complex "Armhi", picturesque waterfalls and ancient temples.

The development of tourism infrastructure is one of the priority tasks set by President of our country Vladimir Putin. The creation of the national tourist route “Land of Galgays” is a big step in the development of the tourism potential of Ingushetia. Assigning a national status to a route is a quality mark and a guarantee of its compliance with the high standards established by the Russian Government. I am sure that the new route will be popular with tourists and will allow them to discover our republic from a new side, said the head of the Republic of Ingushetia Mahmud Ali-Kalimatov.
