The Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of St. Petersburg recognized the former profitable house of State Councillor Andrei Kushelev at 1 Rimsky-Korsakov Avenue as a monument of regional significance.
The three-story house on this site was erected as early as 1834. In 1899 the house was rebuilt for the State Councillor by the project of architect A. Nosalevich - the layout was changed and the facades acquired a new architectural and artistic eclectic solution. On the hipped tower the year 1900 - the year of completion of the works - is indicated on the flag.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the building housed a professional union of clerks, which is still evidenced by a commemorative plaque on the facade.
