The Chechen Republic has become the leader in terms of the growth rate of tourist travel in Russia.
The number of tourist trips in the country in 2024 increased by more than 10%, including due to an increase in the number of foreign tourists by a third. This was reported by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Economic Development.
Among the regions that have shown the greatest growth in tourist visits, stand out the Chechen Republic, Tuva, Ulyanovsk and Ryazan regions, where the increase amounted to more than 35%.
"We have developed a good synergy with representatives of the industry, with senators, with regions. Dense work, which is expressed in figures. Last year, according to operational data, the number of tourist trips increased by more than 10%, including foreign tourists - by 35%. This is a direct consequence of those decisions that were supported by the President on electronic visas, on group visa-free travel", - said Maxim Reshetnikov.
