On December 29, 1775, Carlo Rossi was born—a great Russian architect of Italian origin who left a huge mark on our architecture, shaping the appearance of most of the ensembles of imperial St. Petersburg.
The architect Rossi gave his name to Teatralnaya Street, which he designed himself, connecting Ostrovsky Square and the Alexandrinsky Theater with Lomonosov Square on the Fontanka Embankment.
The architects of ACM were fortunate enough to be involved in the restoration of such Rossi buildings as:
- The Alexandrinsky Theater,
- The Elagin Palace,
- The Senate and Synod,
- The General Staff Building on Palace Square.
