The exhibition "Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Century XIX".
The exhibition presents the work of Alexei Bogolyubov, a bright artist and traveler, whose art is imbued with love for Russia. He was one of the first to document his impressions of traveling through Russian cities. Special attention is paid to his sketches made in 1863 during a trip with the heir to the throne Nicholas Alexandrovich. The artist's works convey the spirit of the time and the diversity of the Russian landscape, architecture and folk life.
The master created views of Petrozavodsk, Yaroslavl, Rostov-on-Don and many other cities. He also captured the spirit of Russian industrialization, depicting factories and mines. Pictures of the southern coast of the Crimea and landscapes of the Zhigulev Mountains became an important part of his work.
The exposition is complemented by travel items from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
