The Prosecutor's Office of the Stavropol Territory checked compliance with legislation on cultural heritage sites. Supervisory activities covered more than 4,000 historical and cultural monuments.
The inspection revealed that the boundaries of 60% of unique buildings and territories have not been defined, and information about them is not available in the Unified State Register of Natural Resources. Protection zone projects have been prepared for only 12% of cultural heritage objects. The subject of protection is defined only for 37% of valuable architectural and archaeological ensembles. There were also recorded improper maintenance of 17 objects of cultural heritage. For inadequate control over the maintenance of cultural heritage objects, the guilty officials of the specialized department on the recommendation of the prosecutor's office were brought to responsibility.
