Student teams of Pyatigorsk State University continue to develop repair design projects for Stavropol schools. Future designers are working on the project after participating in the exhibition-forum “Russia”, held in Moscow at VDNKh.
On February 20, at the site of the Dream School Workshop in the 57th Pavilion of VDNKh, student teams gathered, which since November last year have conducted research, prepared sketch design projects, conducted them through pre-defenses in the regions with the participation of customers – directors and development teams of schools, education authorities and contractors.
Stavropol at the Workshop represented three teams. They were gathered by a master student of the Higher School of Design and Architecture of the Pyatigorsk State University, an assistant of the Department of Architecture of the VSHDIA Eduard Ambartsumyan. As part of one of the training expeditions organized with the support of the platform “Russia is a country of opportunities”, he visited about 20 new modern schools in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan. Then, having gathered three teams in the Stavropol region and became an ambassador of the project “Dream School”, he conducted similar expeditions with his teams for his like-minded colleagues at the university.
The teams included 15 students of VSDIA, mainly third-year students. Each of them designed a project for the school they visited. Thus, proposals were born for the renovation of two secondary schools of Stavropol and a secondary school in the village of Krasnoye, Grachevsky district.
The works of future design students from PSU were highly appreciated by the results of the Dream School Workshop. The team working on the project for Stavropol school No. 25 was awarded in the nomination “For the idea of design that creates comfort”, and Eduard Ambartsumyan received the prize in the nomination “The Power of Ambassadors”.
“Dream school” for someone is just two words, and for us – sleepless nights, team and friendly work, the ability to distribute responsibilities and create the best for the future generation. Going on an expedition in November, I did not know at all that I would become an ambassador of the project, gather as many as three teams around the edge and together with them we will create modern design projects for future schools in Stavropol.
Just on the day of the start of the Dream School Workshop, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the implementation of the Federal Program for the overhaul of schools. In 2022-2026 , it is planned to overhaul more than 7,300 school buildings.
“This project is part of a comprehensive work on the formation of modern conditions for the education and upbringing of our younger generation,” the head of state said. The main thing in such work, of course, is not just the number of renovated square meters, but the creation of fundamentally new conditions in which children would be comfortable and interesting to study. We are talking about creating a modern school space for young citizens of our country in all regions, in cities and in rural areas.”
To solve the tasks set by President Vladimir Putin, the “Dream School” Workshop gathered student teams of regions and industry experts at the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh. In the capital of 33 regions of our country came student teams and teachers-curators, heads of schools and representatives of education authorities of the regions.
As noted by the leader of the project, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on education and education Natalia Kravchenko, “it is important that the Program helped to qualitatively reboot school spaces, making schools modern, comfortable for children and teachers.” It is this task that we solve in the project “Dream School”, uniting students and school development teams to create sketch design projects.
On the one hand, schools have a great demand for design support, on the other hand, we have an army of students who want to do real useful work.
Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Olga Petrova noted that students in the second and third years already have a need to apply their knowledge.
“We have a huge number of students who are ready to create. Of course, this is a unique opportunity for students to feel themselves in the role of professionals who can change the space in school. We invite them to be part of something that can be remembered and said: I was involved in this wonderful project.
“At the workshop, which took place in February, we met with curators – leading architects and designers from Moscow architectural agencies,” said Eduard Ambartsumyan. They helped us to “twist” sketch projects to the ideal, so that they could be presented to contractors who would implement them. We were noted for reflecting the originality, individuality of the Stavropol Territory. All three projects were positively evaluated by the curators. Our task now is to protect the projects on March 14. The defense will be held in a remote format, experts and representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation will be in the Public Chamber in Moscow, and the authors of the projects will be in the regions. As a result of the protection, the best projects will be put into practice.”.
