One of the most valuable objects of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Ingushetia can rightfully be considered stone crypts scattered throughout the mountainous part of the republic. Abandoned for decades, destroyed by the weather, tourists and “black diggers”, these silent tombs are still preserved at each tower complex. Fortunately, over the past year, not only have the towers been restored, but the crypts have also been restored, because it makes perfect sense that “towers are architecture that grows upwards, and crypts are history that grows downwards.”
As part of the program to identify all objects of cultural heritage of Ingushetia, ASM Group will identify, record and, together with the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, register all crypts of the republic.
The project partner is the SAFMAR Charitable Foundation.
