The former apartment building of Major General Yegor Adam at 14 Vladimirsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg is listed as a regional monument.
The building, constructed in the 1830s and designed by architect Vasily Morgan, was one of the first apartment buildings in the capital. In the 1860s, it was mainly inhabited by people of different social classes - craftsmen, students, officials, while the basement and first floors housed a drinking establishment, a silverware shop, and a kitchen.
In 1873, the front facade was remodeled. In 1897-1905 , the building was adapted for use as the first pawnshop in St. Petersburg and Russia, based on a design by architect Anton Nosalevich. During this period, a fifth floor and attic were added to the front facade, as well as a stone parapet with metal grating and an attic.
