The Julius Kollan House at 92 Bolshoi Prospect of Vasilievsky Island is recognized as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.
The four-story residential house was built in 1904-1905 according to the project of architect Fyodor Lidval. According to the Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of St. Petersburg, the emphasized laconic and modest building became one of the best examples of Northern Art Nouveau. In the architectural solution of the front facade the first floor is traditionally highlighted with stone, as well as windows varying in height and shape. The center of the facade is accentuated by a massive three-sided bay window above the entrance. The facade is designed in contrasting colors, with some parts emphasized and highlighted by stucco decoration with geometric “northern” ornaments.
