The professor conducted a series of university lectures in Arabic on the topic “State-religious relations and strengthening of traditional spiritual and moral values in Russia” in leading universities in Syria:

University of Damascus;

Al-Baath University;

Al-Sham University.

The lectures aroused great interest not only for the university audience, but also for representatives of other spheres – high-ranking civil servants, politicians, military personnel and clergy. During the week, more than 1,200 listeners attended lectures by the Vice-Rector of Pyatigorsk State University.

As part of the expert visit, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Syria organized official meetings of I.D. Ibragimov with the rectors of the main universities of the country to discuss a wide range of issues on academic cooperation. A meeting was also held with the Minister of Religious Affairs and Waqfs of the SAR Muhammad Abd al-Sattar al-Sayyid.

The project was widely covered by Syrian media: leading journalists presented several video reports of each of the prime-time lectures on Syrian television during the week. In addition, I.D. Ibragimov took part as an expert in the main political program on the TV channel “As-Suria”, where he told the Syrian audience about the strengthening of spiritual and moral values in Russia and the special nature of Russian-Syrian cooperation.
