The date of foundation of Pyatigorsk State University is considered to be June 27, 1939, when the Pedagogical School officially became a higher educational institution. Since then, the university has undergone various changes and transformations - an increase in the number of years of study, several renamings - and officially became known as Pyatigorsk State University in 2016. Since 2005, the head of the university is Professor Gorbunov Alexander Pavlovich. By 2009, 10 faculties were formed at the university. Further, on their basis, institutes and higher schools were created, having one of the faculties in their composition. In addition, PSU is actively developing the system of pre-university, postgraduate and additional education. It has a branch in Novorossiysk. Currently, the university has 34 departments. Now Pyatigorsk State University has more than 5,500 students and 3,000 students from different regions of Russia and foreign countries. All the peoples of the Caucasus are also represented in PSU.

Today PSU hosted the opening of the exhibition of posters based on the results of the contest "Memory. Truth. Victory.".

The Higher School of Design and Architecture holds the jubilee fifth contest "Memory. Truth. Victory."

It is important to note that this year the competition has acquired the status of an international one. During the visit of the Director of the Higher School of Design and Architecture Kovaleva O. A. to the Republic of Belarus, an agreement was reached on the participation in the competition of students of the Minsk State Art College named after A. K. Glebov.

Diplomas to the winners will be awarded in four nominations:

"No one is forgotten. Nothing is Forgotten“;

”One Victory for All“;

”Festive Poster“;

”Educating the Younger".

"The main goal and task of the project is to convey, first of all, to the young generation of Russians by laconic but succinct means of graphic communication design. We decided to do it in one of the most accessible languages - the language of graphic design, the language of the poster, focusing on the main meanings and content of the project" - say the organizers of the competition.
