Vladikavkaz urban district

Welcome to the urban district of Vladikavkaz. Vladikavkaz is the capital of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. It is located in the central part of the North Caucasus. It was founded in 1784. In addition to the historically established lands of the city, the Vladikavkaz urban district also includes adjacent public lands, areas of traditional natural resource use by the urban district's population, urban forests, recreational lands, lands for urban development, and some settlements. The population of the district exceeds 300,000 people. They are mainly Ossetians and Russians. There are also representatives of other peoples. The climate in the district is temperate, mitigated by the proximity of the mountains. The largest river in the Caucasus, the Terek, flows through here.

The first international festival of authentic cinema, Alania, has opened in Vladikavkaz.

The opening ceremony was attended by Madina Khodova, deputy head of Vladikavkaz, and Ruslan Marzoev, head of the city administration's culture department. The Vladikavkaz City Hall is co-organizing the festival.

The main goal of the cultural event is to establish a cinematic dialogue between Russian regions and foreign countries. In the final stage of the festival's competition program, 39 feature films, documentaries, experimental films, and animated films will be screened.
