Irafsky District

Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

The first meeting of the Young Voters Club was held at the Lesken Model Library in the Irafsky District.

The meeting was moderated by Alina Eleeva, Chairperson of the Irafsky District Territorial Electoral Commission. Elvira Tuskaeva, Chairperson of the District Territorial Electoral Commission, actively participated in the dialogue with the youth.

The meeting culminated with the visit of Zhanna Morgoeva, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. She came to personally meet the young voters and support their first step into the world of electoral law.

The young voters took a quiz to test their knowledge of electoral law, followed by an important vote. The club members chose the name "Voice of the Youth."

The first meeting concluded with the ceremonial handover of the club's symbol. This was a commemorative cup bearing the club's name and founding date. It will remain in the library and be passed down from member to member.
