Irafsky District

Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

As part of the national project “Family,” a film screening dedicated to All-Russian Father's Day was held at the District Palace of Culture in the village of Chikola.

Father's Day is a holiday designed to express gratitude to men who play one of the most important roles in the family and society. It is a day when we particularly feel the value of a father's wisdom, care, and love.

The audience was shown a classic of Soviet cinema, the film “The Soldier's Father.” The film tells the story of the deep, selfless love of a father who is ready to go through all the trials of war to find his son. This story is a powerful reminder of the strength of parental love, sacrifice, and fortitude.

Such events, held as part of the national project “Family,” make culture more accessible to residents of different regions and also serve to strengthen family values through art. Viewing and discussing a film that explores the theme of fatherhood allows us to reflect on the role of the father as a protector, support, and moral guide.
