Irafsky District

Welcome to the Irafsky District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Located in the southwestern part of the republic, most of the district is mountainous. It borders Georgia, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Digorsky and Alagirsky districts. The administrative center is the village of Chikola. The population is over 15,000 people, mainly Ossetians and Russians. The Ossetians of the district speak the Digor dialect of the Ossetian language. The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

On the eve of Russian Student Day, students from the Irafsky municipal district took part in the All-Russian campaign “Student Landing,” which contributes to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the national project “Youth and Children.”

The educational trip was initiated by the Irafsky District Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Students in grades 5-11 from schools in the villages of Aksarisar and Khaznidon went on a trip to the Barbashovo Pole Memorial Complex in the village of Gizel and the Museum of the History of Internal Affairs in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in Vladikavkaz.
