The Alagir District supported the “Take a Dog from the Shelter” campaign, which is being held in Vladikavkaz to help homeless dogs. The animals are struggling to survive on the streets...
But in Alagir, the campaign is taking a different form. Today, the district Animal Disease Control Station held an event aimed at preventing the appearance of new stray puppies and kittens, as well as reducing the number of stray animals that cause discontent among people. A veterinarian and his assistant sterilized dogs and cats that were brought to the organization by residents of the city and rural settlements who wanted to take home an animal that had undergone sterilization. Among the participants in the campaign were organizations that undertook to find a dog to guard the territory, feed it, and take care of it.
Roman Gozyumov, acting head of the Alagir District Administration, noted that such events will be held weekly, according to schedule, until the issue of stray dogs ceases to be relevant.
