The economy of the Irafsky District is based on agriculture—there are five collective farms and four state farms here. The district also has a consumer services complex, housing and utilities enterprises, and the Fasnalskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant. Tourism is well developed. The district is rich in historical, cultural, and natural monuments. The Alania National Park is located in the district, where there are many mountaineering, tourist, and ecological trails.

A working meeting was held at the district administration to discuss issues related to the preservation of the unique natural environment and the development of settlements in the Alania National Park.

The meeting was attended by the head of the municipal formation Robert Khamikoyev, the director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Zapovednaya Ossetia-Alania” Evrik Marzaev, his deputy Akhsarbek Fadzayev, as well as representatives of Rosreestr and relevant specialists from the administration.

The reason for the meeting was a mutual interest in preserving the natural heritage of the Digorsky Gorge while taking into account the interests of local residents.

The meeting participants discussed land use issues and outlined a number of specific measures to improve joint work:

· Optimization of contractual work;

· Introduction of environmentally friendly technologies;

· Professional assessment of land plots;

· Coordination of control and supervisory activities.

The meeting resulted in an agreement to develop specific mechanisms for cooperation. All participants agreed that only through joint efforts can the fragile balance between the development of the territory and the protection of its unique nature for future generations be preserved, doing everything possible to ensure that the Digor Gorge remains one of the most beautiful places in our region.
