PSU is training volunteers from the North Caucasus Federal District for the 2026 International Youth Festival.

The Pyatigorsk State University Volunteer Center is actively involved in preparing the volunteer corps for the 2026 International Youth Festival, which will be held from September 11 to 17 in Yekaterinburg.

The center's specialists organized the recruitment and selection of volunteers from across the North Caucasus Federal District, coordinated with the festival's directorate, and trained recruiters to conduct interviews. General training is currently underway for volunteers from Stavropol Krai, Kabardino-Balkaria, and Karachay-Cherkessia, and on June 27, a similar program will be held in Makhachkala for participants from Dagestan, North Ossetia, the Chechen Republic, and the Republic of Ingushetia.

Following the training, the main and reserve teams of the festival's volunteer corps will be formed, and team leaders and heads of functional areas will be selected.а

Pyatigorsk State University summarized the interim results of the "Service-Learning" program for the 2025-2026 academic year. During this period, students developed approximately 30 social projects commissioned by educational institutions, public organizations, and government agencies. All social projects were posted on the DOBRO.RF platform, confirming their social significance and openness.

The results of the work were reviewed at a meeting of the PSU Expert Council chaired by Rector Alexander Pavlovich Gorbunov. As a result of the program's implementation, 23 strategic cooperation agreements were signed with partner organizations, and licensing agreements securing the authors' intellectual property rights were executed for each project.

The "Service-Learning" program helps students apply their acquired knowledge in practice, implement socially significant projects, and contribute to the development of the region by combining education, professional training, and public service.

The defense of theses took place at PSU's Graduate School of Design and Architecture.

Pyatigorsk State University has begun presenting projects by graduates of the online supplementary educational program "Autonomous Mobile Robots: Programming and Electronics (Initial Level)," implemented jointly with 1T LLC.

Fourteen schoolchildren from cities in the Caucasian Mineral Waters region, who completed training under the guidance of V.A. Grechko and Z.Kh. Abregova, specialists from the Design and Technology Bureau "Creative Programming, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence," are presenting their projects. The young roboticists are demonstrating a cleaning robot, a parking robot, a delivery robot, and a search robot with heuristics. Experts evaluate the projects' functionality, the quality of the program code, the circuit assembly, and the presentation of their designs.

For many participants, the program was their first serious step into the world of engineering, programming, and robotics.

On June 8, student teams presented their projects to thematic area curators, experts, mentors, trackers, and representatives of the program's partner organizations. Participants had the opportunity to showcase the results of their work, discuss project development prospects, and receive professional evaluation from experts.

On June 6, a discussion panel entitled "Student Self-Government: A Tool for the Socioeconomic Development of Regions" was held as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum's Youth Day. It was organized by the Student Council of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

Participants will join the leading astrophysicist in addressing some of humanity's most complex and fascinating questions: how the universe emerged, why it is structured the way it is, and how scientific understanding of its origins relates to philosophical concepts of existence. Students from the Institute of Translation Studies, Russian Studies, and Multilingualism at Pyatigorsk State University developed an English-language tour of Lermontov-inspired sites in Pyatigorsk for senior students from Georgievsk Gymnasium No. 2. The project was implemented as part of the Service Learning program.

The project began with extensive research: the team studied the historical and cultural context of the city, analyzed existing tour routes, collected student suggestions, and compiled cartographic and photographic materials.

The result was a comprehensive tour route through key points in the novel "A Hero of Our Time," juxtaposing literary descriptions with the modern appearance of Pyatigorsk.

The students paid special attention to the accessibility of the materials: the tour text was prepared in English using the Easy to Read and Plain Language approaches to ensure the information was easily understood and understood.

Arina Kuzmenko, a student at the Institute of Foreign Languages ​​and International Tourism at PSU, has been selected as one of the ambassadors after successfully passing a competitive selection process. Arina is a member of the student travel club "Mineralka," which aims to develop youth, environmental, cultural, educational, and domestic tourism.
