The National Caucasus Trail connects the shores of the Caspian and Black Seas, passing through the lands of six Caucasian republics and the Krasnodar Territory — from Derbent to Sochi. The trail is about 200–300 kilometers long, depending on the route chosen.

The trail is suitable for experienced hikers and requires good physical fitness. The best time for hiking is during the summer months (June-August) when the snow melts.

The trail passes through regions with rich ethnic diversity, allowing you to get acquainted with the traditional cuisine, crafts, and musical characteristics of the Caucasian peoples. In addition, along the way, you can see a variety of natural and cultural sites: high-mountain lakes, waterfalls, ancient towers and fortresses, as well as mountain ranges with peaks over 4,000 meters.
