Magote is a tower complex on the wooded, pointed mountain peak of Zagal-Duk, 1.1 km southeast of Salga. Currently, only the base and parts of the walls of the battle tower and four residential towers are traced here, which together with the defensive wall formed a single castle complex of the late Middle Ages. In the past, from the top of the ridge, a beautiful view of four gorges was revealed, which allowed residents to control the surrounding area. According to legend, Magote was built more than 600 years ago by the legendary sorcerer, the sage Mago. Mago is buried on the same summit in one of the solar burial grounds. A kilometer from the tower complex, on the edge of a huge cliff stands the ancient temple of Mago-Erda, named after Mago and built, according to legend, by him.

Between the sanctuary and the tower complex on the ridge stretches an extensive crypt necropolis, consisting of more than 100 underground and semi-underground collective tombs of the XIII-XVII centuries. Here were found earrings, pendants, rings, beads, weapons and pottery with inscriptions.

The Magote Tower Complex is part of the Dzhirakh-Assin State Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve and is an identified object of cultural heritage protected by the state.
