The tower complex Phemet is located in the Jeirakh district on the steep slope of the left bank of the Archkhi River, at the beginning of the Jeirakh gorge. Now only the bases of the battle tower and five residential towers with annexes are marked here, which together with the defensive wall formed a rather strong castle complex of the late Middle Ages.

In the limits of the tower complex Phemet on the mountain slope is a stone-box necropolis X-XIII centuries. In the graves were found weapons, coins, mirrors, ceramics. On the northern edge of the complex formerly stood a large medieval Christian temple Phemet Yerda, destroyed in the middle of the XIX century.

The castle complex of Phemet was previously adjoined by a high and long wall with battlefields, loopholes and wide locking gates. At the gates in the late Middle Ages, a well-armed numerous guards were constantly on duty, controlling the entrance and exit from the Jeirakh gorge, collecting “road” taxes from passers-by.

The Phemet Tower Complex is part of the Djeirakh-Assin State Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve and is an identified object of cultural heritage protected by the state.
