The ancient temple of Mago Yerda, built by a sorcerer named Mago, is located on the edge of a huge cliff. This religious monument is located directly at the important medieval trade and transport highway leading through the mountain pass to Georgia.

The temple-sanctuary was venerated by the surrounding population. Descendants of Mago annually, until the second half of the XIX century, on the day of the summer and winter solstice performed various religious rites. In the temple was found a unique parchment handwritten psalter of the X century. Near Magot-Yerda was built a small sanctuary in honor of the leader of the sarts Sesk-Sols-Yerda. From the sanctuary of Sesca Solsa, according to legend, radiated radiance. It was so bright at night that I could sew it. It has now fallen into the abyss.

The sanctuary of Mago-Yerda is part of the Dzhirakh-Assin State Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve and is an identified object of cultural heritage protected by the state.
