Baste is a tower complex located in the village of Baste in Itum-Kali district, 30 km west of the district center of Itum-Kali. The architectural ensemble is located in a deep mountain gorge, on the high left bank of the Basti-khi River, which is a left tributary of the Chanty-Argun River. The complex consists of a combat tower, residential towers and a ground crypt. It is dated XIII-XVI centuries.

The towers were built by order of the Baste villagers, who belonged to the BIa'iste teip of the Malkhi tukhum. The buildings are in an emergency condition. Roofs and ceilings have collapsed. The preserved walls have cracks.

The architectural ensemble displays Chechen medieval dwelling architecture with fortification elements. The towers are of interest to scholars of architectural history.

The Baste Tower Complex is a cultural heritage site located in the Argun Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve. It is protected by the state.
