Vaserkel Tower Complex (Oyz-Khel, Vasar Khal, Faraz-Khal) - "Fortress of the Courageous", a legendary complex in mountainous Chechnya. Located in the Itum-Kali district in the historical Maista region of Chechnya on a narrow, inaccessible on three sides, cape near the river Maystoyn-erk on the border with Georgia at an altitude of 1370 m above sea level.

The complex consists of a battle tower, defensive structures, ruins of medieval houses, as well as a necropolis - stone crypts of slate slabs scattered along the slopes. Basically, these are small stone houses with a square hole on the front side. There are two-storey crypts, and crypts with a memorial chamber. The complex has been uninhabited since the early Middle Ages.

Vaserkel is difficult to visit, because it is located in the border area of the Chechen Republic, away from roads and in difficult terrain - you will have to overcome a difficult trail with a length of 5 km. The best time to visit is summer.

The Vaserkel Tower complex is an object of cultural heritage and is located on the territory of the Argun Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve.
