Pkhakoch Castle Complex is located at the entrance to the Tazbichi Gorge, in the heart of the Itum-Kali mountainous municipal district of the Chechen Republic. On the western side, the Pkhakoch Castle Complex faces the rocky bed of Dyore Ahk, from the east it rests on the Tsunik Mountains. On the territory of the castle complex Pkhakoch is the Museum of Local Lore named after Hussein Isayev.

The complex is recreated on the basis of the medieval historical and architectural complex of the XI-XV centuries Pkhakoch. The restorers completely restored the castle complex in its original form. Inside the fortress there are several residential towers, a battle tower, a water mill, stone buildings. Many stones of the tower complex are covered with petroglyphs.

On the first floor of one of the residential towers there is a local history museum. The exposition includes ancient weapons, utensils, household items, tools. On the second floor there is a memorial museum named after Hussein Isayev, the first chairman of the State Council of the Chechen Republic. The exposition reproduces the atmosphere of the leader’s office.

In addition to the storage and exposition of historical funds, the museum also conducts research work on the history of the Chechen Republic.
