A group of water instructors from various regions of Russia visited the Sharoi Historical and Architectural Museum.

The guests learned about the history and cultural heritage of the Sharoi District and viewed the museum's exhibits and architectural monuments located within its grounds. They were particularly interested in the traditions of the mountain peoples, as well as the unique historical artifacts on display in the museum's collection.

The visit took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, leaving the guests with vivid impressions and a desire to return to this picturesque corner of the Caucasus.

Tourists from Moscow visited the Sharoi Historical and Architectural Museum. They remarked on the beautiful mountain scenery, the tower complex, and the region's rich cultural heritage.

The director of the State Budgetary Institution "Chechen Museum-Reserve" and his staff traveled to the Yorda-Anshka hamlet in the Galanchozh District to conduct maintenance work on a residential tower and crypt, as well as photograph and video recording the condition of the structure, which bears the characteristics of a cultural heritage site.

On April 22-23, 2026, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference "Problems and Prospects of Tourism Development: Regional Aspects" was held at the Faculty of Geography and Geoecology of the A.A. Kadyrov Chechen State University.

One of the conference speakers was R.S. Bakanaev, a senior researcher at the Chechen State Museum-Reserve. In his report "The Chechen State Museum-Reserve in the Regional Tourism System," he presented the museum-reserve's key activities.

Particular attention was paid to the preservation and sustainable use of the republic's cultural and natural heritage sites, as well as the museum-reserve's role in the development of regional domestic and inbound tourism.

A working group from the Chechen Historical, Architectural, and Natural Museum Reserve conducted its first expedition after the reserve's renaming to the territory of the Galai community.

The study focused on the former village of Mindar-Yukhkhe and its surroundings. The result: seven more cultural heritage sites were discovered.

In the mountains of Chechnya, not far from the high-altitude lake Kezenoy-Am, lies the ancient complex "Aldam-Gezi." It stretches along a mountainside and includes the ruins of a citadel, a residential tower (Daud's Tower), and a mosque.

All that formed the basis of a medieval mountain settlement. The stone walls and remains of buildings blend beautifully into the mountainous terrain.

Today, the complex is partially destroyed, but even in its current state, it leaves a powerful impression and allows one to imagine how life here flourished many centuries ago.

The museum-reserve has officially received a new name.

Previously, it was called the Argun State Historical, Architectural, and Natural Museum-Reserve.

It is now known as the Chechen State Historical, Architectural, and Natural Museum-Reserve.

This renaming is confirmed by an official decree of the Government of the Chechen Republic.

An emergency meeting was held at the museum-reserve office to discuss plans for field trips, identifying cultural heritage sites for the near future, and to make some comments to specific departments.

Deputy Director of the State Budgetary Institution "Argun Museum-Reserve" Kh. Kh. Sersultanov took part in a meeting of the interdepartmental border commission of the Chechen Republic.

The Argun Museum-Reserve working group conducted another field visit to the Khildekharoyskoye rural settlement in the Itum-Kala District. Two cultural heritage sites were identified and maintenance work was carried out. This year, 22 cultural heritage sites have already been identified.

Battle Tower No. 2, Itum-Kali District, 13th-16th centuries.

The Bugaroy battle tower is located on a mountain slope, on the eastern outskirts of the village of Bugaroy, along the Zumsoy-akhk River.

It once served as a watchtower and signal tower, providing visual communication with neighboring villages and monitoring the valley.

Today, the tower is partially destroyed; only the northwestern corner of the stonework remains.

Despite this, the structure blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape and remains an interesting attraction for tourists, history buffs, and hikers.

Argun Museum Reserve staff visited the Bovloi Gorge and carried out maintenance work at four cultural heritage sites.

The director of the Argun Museum-Reserve, along with staff from the departments for popularization and use of cultural heritage sites and for monitoring and ensuring the preservation of cultural heritage sites, identified nine new objects with characteristics of cultural heritage sites in the Itum-Kali district of the Terloysky rural settlement.

On January 20, a seminar on “Chechen Tower Architecture” was held at the A.A. Aidamirov National Library of the Chechen Republic.

The seminar was conducted by R.S. Bakanayev, senior researcher at the Department of Archaeology and Architecture of the Argun State Historical, Architectural, and Natural Museum-Reserve. The event examined the history and characteristics of Chechen tower architecture, its cultural significance, and modern approaches to the preservation and restoration of tower complexes.

Specialists from cultural institutions took part in the seminar. The event became an important platform for professional exchange and discussion of issues related to the preservation of the architectural heritage of the Chechen Republic.

At the invitation of A.A. Kadyrov Chechen State University, Deputy Director of the Argun Museum-Reserve State Budgetary Institution, Kh. Kh. Sersultanov, took part in a round table discussion held at the Department of Museology and Cultural Studies of the History Faculty of A.A. Kadyrov Chechen State University.

The theme of the round table was “The professions of cultural studies and museology: problems and prospects for student training.”

Ramzan Bakanayev won the Knowledge Award for being the best educator in the Chechen Republic.

On November 25, 2025, the results of the prestigious Knowledge Award were announced, with Ramzan Bakanayev, senior researcher at the Argun Museum-Reserve, named the winner in the Best Educator category for the region. This federal-level recognition reflects his significant contribution to the promotion of cultural heritage, the development of interregional dialogue, and the expansion of scientific and educational projects in the Chechen Republic.

Our trip through the mountains of Chechnya turned into an exciting and educational excursion for the children, with the majestic Mount Banduk as its main destination. From the very beginning, the children were in the mood for adventure: picturesque landscapes, green gorges, and high slopes opened up around us, inviting us to explore this amazing world.

When we reached the foot of the mountain, the children were amazed by the spacious valleys and panoramic views, creating the atmosphere of a fairy-tale mountain journey. They listened with interest to stories about the nature and history of these places, learning new facts about the relief, climate, and features of the region. The safe trails allowed them to feel like little explorers, carefully examining everything around them.

The excursion to Mount Banduk gave the children many vivid emotions and became a real discovery for them. This trip left a feeling of lightness, inspiration, and real mountain magic that is impossible to forget.

We took a fascinating tour of the mountains of Chechnya, visiting several significant historical sites. Our first stop was the Ts1echa Akh complex, where, surrounded by mountain slopes and ancient tower buildings, we felt the spirit of antiquity and the power of mountain nature.

Then we went to Yalkhary, a clan village surrounded by picturesque landscapes. The winding roads, breathtaking views, and peaceful atmosphere made the trip especially memorable.

The final stop was the village of Khaibakh, one of the oldest in the region. Its stone buildings, silence, and stunning views create the feeling of traveling back in time.

The excursion left a lasting impression and allowed us to take a fresh look at the rich history and beauty of mountainous Chechnya.
