Urus-Martan District

New sewage treatment facilities will be operational in Urus-Martan in 2025. The sewage network construction project is under the authority of the Ministry of Construction of the Chechen Republic and is being developed jointly with a design institute. A total of 9 housing and utilities facilities have been built in the district since 2021. The new sewage treatment facilities will have a capacity of 7,000 m³ per day.

Also, the construction of more than 30 km of water supply networks continues in the district to improve water supply for residents of several settlements.

In addition, the improvement of the central square is currently being completed in Urus-Martan, the design of which won the contest of the Russian Ministry of Construction.

The Urus-Martan district of the Chechen Republic hosted the Open Cup of the Head of the Chechen Republic among young men and juniors in mixed martial arts (MMA). The event was organized by Sports School No. 1 of the Urus-Martan district with the support of the Chechen Republic's Ministry of Physical Culture and Sport. More than 150 athletes took part in the competition.

The tournament is aimed at popularizing MMA among young people in the region. The tournament was organized within the framework of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life”, aimed at increasing physical activity among citizens and developing mass sports in Russia. In addition, the project is part of the national initiative “Demography”, which is aimed at improving the quality of life and health of the population, as well as attracting more people to regular physical training and sports.

The Urus-Martan Palace of Culture hosted an environmental action “Feed the birds in winter!” as part of the national project “Culture”. The participants did not just feed birds, but also learned about the different species living in the area, learned to distinguish the characteristic features of appearance and behavior, learned about the correct way to feed and care for birds to save them from death in winter. And besides, they simply enjoyed communicating with wildlife.

In 2024, 188 people from Urus-Martan district were able to undergo medical screening within the framework of the federal project “Older Generation” of the national project “Demography”. The program involves the delivery of persons over 65 years of age living in rural areas to medical institutions for medical check-ups.

In order to put the project into effect, we had to conduct preventive activities with citizens, inform them, explain the purpose of the medical examination, and then schedule visits to medical institutions. Medical personnel who interacted with patients for a whole year were also of great help in this work.

The Urus-Martan municipal district actively carries out activities to improve the sanitary and ecological condition of the district. All departments and organizations not only from the city of Urus-Martan, but also from 12 settlements of the district participate in the subbotniks. Special attention is paid to the territories adjacent to all organizations and institutions. City parks and squares are cleaned, cleaning of suburbs and roadways continues.

The Urus-Martan district team took third place in the national speed-reading championship.

The event, which took place in the auditorium of the Argun Palace of Culture, was attended by 49 people from different districts of Chechnya. The participants represented their districts in teams of seven. The first round was an intellectual quiz on reading literacy, and the second round - on speed and expressiveness of reading. The participants were evaluated by a jury consisting of representatives of the Abuzar Aidamirov National Library of the Chechen Republic. In Urus-Martan, a new sports and fitness complex was opened within the framework of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life”. The head of Urus-Martan district Shamil Kutsaev took part in the opening ceremony.

The complex occupies an area of about 2 hectares. It is designed for sports events and training in a wide range of disciplines. The facility is suitable for both professional athletes and those who simply keep fit.

Schools in the Urus-Martan municipal district have received modern office equipment thanks to the Regional Public Fund named after the First President of the Chechen Republic, Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov.

The upgrade of office equipment will allow modern technologies to be introduced into the educational process and will also improve the quality of teaching.

A round table discussion dedicated to the role of Akhmad-Khadzhi Kadyrov in the formation of the Chechen Republic was held in Urus-Martan.

The meeting was organized by the Ministry of National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information of the Chechen Republic, timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of the Chechen Republic—the Day of Civil Harmony and Unity.

The agenda of the round table included determining the significance of the achievements of civil peace and harmony in the Chechen Republic.

The Urus-Martan district is actively legalizing informal workers.

Reducing the level of informal employment is one of the priority tasks in the Chechen Republic, as “shadow” employment poses risks to the economy and social sphere.

Interdepartmental working groups are systematically identifying and legalizing employers who operate without official registration.

In addition, a hotline has been set up to collect information on cases of unregistered employment.

In the first seven months of 2025, more than 550 people were identified and legalized in the Urus-Martan municipal district.

Major renovations have been completed at the Urus-Martan Central District Hospital.

Chechen Republic Health Minister Adam Alkhanov paid a working visit to the Urus-Martan District Central District Hospital, where he inspected the results of the renovation and construction work.

The clinic underwent a major renovation, including a complete replacement of its utilities. The pediatric clinic, admissions department, registration area, and call center were renovated. Two new buildings were also constructed: a women's clinic building with six rooms and an administrative building with seven rooms. This significantly improved working conditions for medical staff and addressed the shortage of rooms.

During the inspection, the minister spoke with doctors and patients, who expressed their gratitude for the transformation and improved conditions for medical care.
