The Russian Paragliding Cup was held at Veduchi.

From June 18th to 23rd, the Veduchi resort and Lake Kezenoy-Am hosted the Russian Paragliding Cup stages in the Landing Accuracy discipline. More than 30 of the country's strongest athletes gathered at the main mountain resorts of the Chechen Republic. Those who had passed preliminary selection in their regions: Moscow, Leningrad, Ivanovo, and Kaluga Oblasts, Dagestan, Udmurtia, Bryansk, and Kaliningrad. Athletes from Belarus also participated.

The competition began, with training and first competitive flights taking place at the Veduchi resort. Afterward, the athletes moved to the high-mountain Lake Kezenoy-Am for two days, where the competition continued and the awards ceremony for the winners and runners-up took place.

Kavkaz.RF specialists, together with the organizers, installed additional meteorological equipment for the competition to study Veduchi's climatic and aerological characteristics in advance. Furthermore, the resort's management company ensured rescue and medical services were on duty at the site and provided athletes with transportation to the starting points.

All the winners were from the Kaliningrad Region, a traditional favorite for such competitions: the team team, Tatyana Dobrynina in the women's competition, and Dmitry Sklyarenko in the men's competition.

"This year, the athletes flew only on Veduchi's southern slope, but we've already received a lot of feedback that the terrain and wind conditions are ideal for flying, and that the cable car currently under construction to the northern slope will eventually allow Veduchi to become a fully-fledged paragliding base for major competitions. "In the meantime, we'll continue this summer of sports at the resort with other activities: a series of mountain races, a sports tourism festival, and mountain hikes are coming up," said Rustam Tapaev, Deputy General Director of Kavkaz.RF.

"The level of these events has reached a tangible standard, approaching that of World Championships and Cups. This is true not only in terms of organization, but also in terms of the conditions that allow athletes to fully demonstrate their skills and judges to fairly identify the best. There were no flight accidents (incidents), not even the preconditions for one. In summary, the region has enormous potential for safely hosting top-level competitions," commented Alexey Rudakov, head of the Ultralight Aviation Sports Federation of the Chechen Republic.

The Russian Cup is the second most important event after the Russian Championship and an opportunity for winners to represent the national team in international competitions.

"Precision Landing" is one of the official disciplines of paragliding, where the pilot's task is to land as close as possible to the intended point and demonstrate how well he "feels" the wing, speed, and air currents.

The most challenging stage of construction for the new VL1 cable car has been successfully completed at the all-season Veduchi mountain resort: three giant supports on opposite sides of the gorge have been connected with the first cable.

The project's key parameters include: the span between supports is almost 3 km; the distance from the future cabin to the ground is 414 m; one support is located on the southern slope of the gorge, and two on the northern slope.

The installation was completed using a helicopter: it transported the cable from the starting point to the supports, while the crew ensured precise tracking of the cable along the terrain, without excessive tension or sagging (in the shape of a smooth parabola).

The next stages of construction include the installation of more powerful cables, the installation and commissioning of automation control systems, motors, and safety sensors, and the installation of 18 cabins with a capacity of 32 people each.

The project will improve the resort's accessibility and enhance the quality of service for guests.

The first gondola of the large-scale cable car at Veduchi has been installed.

This is a 4.4-kilometer-long 3S cable car on three supporting towers. It will connect the resort's southern (current) and northern (constructed but not yet operational) slopes.

The maximum span between the towers is 2,860 meters. The gondola can accommodate 32 people and is an art object in itself. The next step is to stretch the cables between the towers using a helicopter.

A new children's slope has appeared at the Chechen resort of Veduchi.

An additional grass ski lift has been installed on the 200-meter southern slope of the resort to make skiing lessons more effective.

"Initially, the children's slope was 80 meters long, but now it is 200 meters long. The upper part is gentler, while the lower part has a steeper slope and narrows. This season, we have set ourselves the goal of increasing the number of guests who are skiing for the first time, because these are the future guests of the resort's full infrastructure, which includes 14 km of slopes and four lifts on the northern slope," says Rustam Tapaev, Deputy General Director of Kavkaz.RF.

The Veduchi resort is primarily geared towards active family vacations. It has a one-kilometer-long blue slope that is open all year round, with artificial snowmaking and lighting. There is a training slope, a children's slope, and a tubing park. During the New Year holidays alone, more than 400 children took to the slopes at Veduchi for the first time. Since the beginning of the year, 2,785 people have visited the resort under construction in Chechnya.

A unique cable car is being built at the resort, which will stretch 4.4 km over the Argun Gorge and connect the southern and northern slopes. On the opposite side, 14 km of ski slopes of varying difficulty are already ready and waiting for their moment. A large chain hotel from the Cosmos Hotel Group is preparing to open, and a restaurant is being built next to the lower station of the cable car.

The project for a snowcat garage on the northern slope of Veduchi has passed the Main State Expert Review.

It will be one of the epicenters of the ski infrastructure, located at the very top of the main skiing area — the Daneduk ridge at an altitude of 2,327 meters. After reviewing the design and estimate documentation, the Russian State Expert Review Board issued a positive conclusion on the snowcat garage project.

The multi-story building for five vehicles (two inside and three under a canopy) will house not only equipment, but also rooms for staff to rest and eat, bathrooms, utility rooms, and even a mini-fuel station with a capacity of 90 cubic meters of fuel. The total building area will be almost 600 square meters. And all this will be located at the top of the northern slope of the resort, between the stations of two chairlifts with the working names VL2 and VL4. The construction of these chairlifts is already nearing completion.

On September 20, the Sports Family Festival took place in Veduchi.

Participants ran a 21 km race along a picturesque route with an elevation gain of 1,100 meters. There were no technically difficult sections. It was a great opportunity to run along an eco-trail with a view of the Khacharoyakh River gorge, descend into the valley, and explore the ancient mountain village of Veduchi.

There was also a 3 km fun run, family relays, master classes and quests, children's and teenage races, cornhole, frisbee and archery games, an open-air concert and an awards ceremony for participants.

Summer tourist traffic to Veduchi grew by 10% thanks to organized eco-trail tours.

Every month, Kavkaz.RF conducted group hikes along the resort's most scenic eco-trails. In addition to the hike, guests of Veduchi were offered a free transfer from Grozny and a professional photo session upon request.

"It all started a year ago with a hike organized by Aishat Ramzanovna Kadyrova, Deputy Chair of the Government of the Chechen Republic. At that time, more than two hundred people joined the 5 km trek. We saw a big surge of interest on social media and an increase in requests for this type of organized leisure activity. This summer, we introduced trekking weekends into the system," says Rustam Tapaev, deputy general director of Kavkaz.RF.

The eco-trail network, which is already extensive—nine routes with a total length of 36 km—is actively developing further. By the end of the year, specialists plan to lay another 30 km of trails, including connecting the Veduchi resort with Lake Kezenoy-Am via a dirt road.

“The route, almost 100 km long, revealed itself in all its glory when we started holding mountain races. It was this track, ”Kezhenoy-Am – Veduchi," that became the most scenic. Together with the Ministry of Tourism of the Chechen Republic, we came up with the idea of creating a route that can be traveled by SUV, bicycle, or on foot," says Rustam Tapaev.

All work is being carried out as part of the project to create the interregional tourist route “National Caucasian Trail.” By next summer, it is planned to create a digital twin of the trails that can be used online and offline, allowing tourists to access information about the trails even without internet access.
