Elbrus has launched a loyalty program for resort guests.

Now, every purchase on the website or in the mobile app earns points that can be used to pay for future purchases.

The number of points earned depends on the total amount spent since registering for the program. The more a guest purchases at the resort, the more points they earn. These points can be used to pay for the entire purchase; there are no restrictions, such as only half the purchase being covered with points and the remainder being paid in rubles.

"Based on a tourist experience study we conducted last season, more than 10% of guests noted a discount system or loyalty program as one of the changes they would like to see at the resort," commented Rustam Tapayev, Deputy General Director of Kavkaz.RF.

On December 1, 2025, Elbrus became the first ski resort in the Caucasus to introduce cashback for payments made through the SBP. The promotion was run in conjunction with the National Payment Card System: when purchasing a ski pass on the resort's official website and paying through the Fast Payment System, guests received a 10% refund to their card.

"The launch of the lifetime loyalty program is a continuation of our more flexible pricing policy and another step toward encouraging guests to return to Elbrus more often: after all, vacationing at the resort is becoming not only interesting but also profitable. This is especially true given that points are valid for a long time, over a year: even if a guest only visits the resort once a season, they can use their points without them expiring," explains Marketing Director Olga Kravchenko.

Currently, the program is only available for online purchases of ski passes and walking tickets. Future plans include incorporating services from SEZ residents (instructors, rental shops, cafes, and hotels), as well as expanding the program to other resorts managed by Kavkaz.RF.

Forty-five schoolchildren from Tyrnyauz came to Elbrus for a career guidance meeting about careers in tourism and the professions needed in the North Caucasus today.

The students met with the Kavkaz.RF team. They learned about the development of tourism in the region and the resorts currently under construction and expansion, including Elbrus, Mamison, Veduchi, and Kaspiy. Modern resorts are in need of a variety of professionals: engineers, mechanics, IT specialists, rescuers, avalanche experts, mountain patrol officers, guides, snow collectors, and dozens of other specialists.

Representatives from Kabardino-Balkarian State University also spoke. Career department staff discussed the university's specializations, internship and employment opportunities, and the new partnership with Kavkaz.RF.

The "Rocks of Russia" festival in the Elbrus region will connect two centuries of mountaineering.

From June 9-15, the Baksan Gorge in Kabardino-Balkaria will host the all-Russian climbing festival "Rocks of Russia. Elbrus 2026" for the third time, a joint project of the country's rock climbing and mountaineering federations.

Participants will explore cliffs near the town of Tyrnyauz and the surrounding area of the Dzhan-Tugan alpine camp. Hundreds of routes are divided into three disciplines: lead climbing; bouldering—short, challenging routes without ropes; and multi-pitch routes on steep cliffs.

In addition to the festival's free climbing, the program includes a stage of the Russian Mountaineering Cup in the "class-rock" discipline, the Russian Armed Forces Climbing Championship, the Open Women's Mountaineering Cup, the FAR Cup, a bouldering contest featuring leading Russian rock climbers, and a "Beginners" category for those with up to one year of climbing experience.

This year, the organizers added a special Women's Cup category—" 1936-2026 ." It is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the first ascent in the history of Russian mountaineering by an all-female team.

"In the summer of 1936, three Leningrad climbers—Maria Potapova, Konstantsiya Narbut, and Natalia Sidorova—climbed the main summit of Dombay-Ulgen (4,046 m) via a 3B-category route. "Today, it's very exciting and honorable to announce a nomination in honor of our brave Soviet climbers," notes Irina Morozova, initiator of the first FAR Women's Mountaineering Cup, one of the masterminds behind the Steel Angel award, and senior coach of the Rocks of Russia: Elbrus 2026 festival.

The main prize in the special nomination is a certificate for ten-day accommodation at Bezengi, one of the country's most historic mountaineering bases.

"This semantic emphasis is very close to our hearts. During the Soviet years, the Elbrus region became the birthplace of mass mountaineering in the country. Schools, routes, and entire generations of climbers were established here. This theme is one of the key ones in our "Archive of Heights" project, where we explore and collect the legacy of Soviet highland architecture, science, and recreational culture—everything that makes Elbrus legendary. "And when heritage has multiple voices—sports, research, and culture—it becomes a living part of today's landscape," explains Khasan Timizhev, Executive Director of Kavkaz.RF.

Alongside the competitions, the festival will also feature a Multi-Pitch School (a training program on climbing techniques on long, multi-pitch routes). This year, it will be held in an expanded format: basic and advanced modules, as well as a separate trad module for working with your own anchors. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate in the mountaineering training program.

Registration continues via the mobile app. The festival is also open to spectators: you can climb the cliffs and watch the climbing freely during the competition days. According to the organizers, the most spectacular event is night bouldering.

The festival organizers are the Russian Climbing Federation, the Russian Mountaineering Federation, the Ministry of Sports of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Central Sports Club of the Army. Media partner: Kavkaz.RF.

Elbrus Resort staff laid flowers at the "Heroes of the Defense of Elbrus Region" memorial, located on the slope of Mount Elbrus in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

The monument was erected in 1987, based on a design by Viktor Savostikov, Valery Korneev, and Nikolai Kravchenko. The "Heroes of the Defense of Elbrus Region" monument is dedicated to all those who died defending the impregnable slopes of Elbrus during the Great Patriotic War.

Construction of the "Heroes of the Defense of Elbrus Region" monument began in 1986 and was completed a year later, with the grand opening taking place on May 9. The monument consists of seven aluminum steles of varying heights, the central one reaching four and a half meters, mounted on a two-meter-thick foundation made of stone blocks. The steles contain the names of 219 Heroes of the Soviet Union who died in the battles on Elbrus.

Filming for another film project, "Epiphany," has concluded in the Elbrus region.

The team explored mountain tourism as a vibrant interweaving of people and meanings: riders with their passion for skiing, scientists with their meticulous attention to detail, and local residents with their boundless love for the place where they grew up.

During 17 days of filming, dozens of spectacular rides were captured, along with ice climbing lessons and overnight stays at a glaciology camp at 2,700 meters. Conversations with legendary veterans about how they've observed changes in Elbrus glaciers throughout their lives (30-40 years) and, concurrently, the changing culture of tourism were also captured.

The film will show how mindful mountaineering and tourism are becoming part of the region's cultural identity.

Editing is scheduled to be completed by the end of summer. Screenings will follow at festivals, in tourist clubs, at the resort, and online.

Elbrus is growing: Kavkaz.RF is developing the resort's mountaineering segment.

A conference entitled "Current Safety Issues in Adventure Tourism in Russia" was held in Moscow. Alexey Elin, Advisor to the General Director, delivered a presentation on behalf of the development institute. The event brought together key industry players: resort managers, mountain guides, climbers, rescuers, and representatives of insurance and assistance companies.

The conference aims to create a safer and more sustainable environment for adventure tourism in Russia and to facilitate the exchange of experience between industries. The organizers dedicated the first part to presentations, while the second was dedicated to expert networking to develop key points. Following the conference, the organizers announced the decision to make the conference an annual event.

The Caucasus, the region home to virtually all of the country's highest peaks, including Elbrus, dominated the agenda. Alexey Elin discussed the progress of the Elbrus resort's modernization, including what has been accomplished and what is planned for the coming years. He noted that the resort isn't directly involved in climbing, but de facto supports the mountaineering industry: it provides infrastructure such as cable cars and the Liprus high-mountain hotel, builds an alpine village at an altitude of 3,900 meters, and restores the legendary Priyut 11 high-mountain hotel at an altitude of 4,100 meters. Furthermore, the resort's team promotes the historical heritage of the area—it was here in the 1930s that Soviet mountaineering was born.

Conference participants particularly noted the work of the Elbrus rescue service. In addition to ensuring safety on the ski slopes, the resort's rescuers, in emergency situations, collaborate with the Elbrus High-Altitude Search and Rescue Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The recent helicopter evacuations of climbers from the Shkhelda and Bezengi walls were also discussed—cases that confirm the critical importance of professional rescue work at high altitudes, the availability of appropriate equipment, and the need for voluntary insurance policies covering sports risks.

A separate topic of discussion was the introduction of a permit system, climber insurance, and the establishment of rescue stations on the north face of Elbrus. The Kavkaz.RF team is conducting this work jointly with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Elbrus National Park, and the Government of Kabardino-Balkaria.

"By the next mountaineering season, we intend to work with the professional community to develop a system for route permits and insurance—these are long-overdue issues. But we are approaching this carefully. It is important for us that any innovations are justified and do not create barriers for the industry," noted Alexey Elin.

The conference was organized by Save Pro Life, an online travel insurance service. Presentations were also given by representatives of the Russian Mountain Guides Association, the Russian Mountaineering Federation, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, tour operators AlpIndustry-Tour and Elbrus Expert, the Heliaction helicopter company, the UAL mountain club, the Savitar Group assistance company, and the Grebni travel club.

Ski mountaineer Nikita Filippov won his first medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

He took second in the sprint—a discipline that involves several stages: part of the ascent is covered on skis with skins, part on foot, with the skis strapped to a backpack, and then a high-speed descent back down on skis. The race lasts approximately 3.5 minutes.

It's worth noting that Nikita's first ski mountaineering camp (he had previously also competed in biathlon and cross-country skiing) took place on Elbrus. It served as preparation for the Junior World Championships and simultaneously as a turning point: the mountains captivated him so much that he decided to devote himself entirely to ski mountaineering.

Evening skiing on Elbrus has become a daily occurrence.

"This is the best thing that's ever happened to the Krugozor-Azau trail," guests are reacting to the news from Kavkaz.RF about the introduction of daily evening skiing. Elbrus' lower trail attracts up to 500 riders at a time and serves as a source of inspiration for creating atmospheric content.

"It's important that the trail's level is suitable not only for professionals but also for intermediate skiers. Although we regularly see local FWQ champions Idris Uzdenov, Alim Matkovskiy, Sofia Vukovich, and others on it. The decision to offer daily evening skiing certainly forces the operations department to work significantly harder, but it's all done for the guests, their experiences, and their joy," says Khisa Bekkaev, Deputy General Director of Kavkaz.RF, responsible for resort operations.

Night skiing has become the most anticipated new feature of the 2025/2026 winter season, along with the eastern sector ski area. Fifty-four illuminated masts were installed specifically for this ski area along a 2.4-kilometer stretch. Since its launch, 7,500 people have enjoyed the "evening skiing."

"Night skiing is the best thing that has ever happened to the Krugozor-Azau trail. Yesterday, today, tomorrow, and now every day! Life on Elbrus will now be vibrant in the evenings," shares rider and blogger Darina Dzhappueva.

Every evening, guests can enjoy fresh corduroy skis when the lights are turned on. A ski pass costs less than a day pass – 2,200 rubles for adults and 1,300 rubles for children. A special offer applies when purchasing online: a 10% discount thanks to instant cashback when paying via the fast payment system.
